Kazu Kibuishi & Jason Caffoe (part 2) on Making Comics #14

This is part 2 of the conversation. Part 1 can be found here.

Kazu Kibuishi and Jason Caffoe sit down with Jason Brubaker (reMIND) to discuss the making of Amulet published by Scholastic, the Flight Anthology, raising more than $50,000 on Kickstarter to self publish Daisy Kutter and why we are even doing comics is the first place. This is another one that gets deep. :)

Also, see Jason Brubaker’s Kickstarter for reMIND 2 here.

  1. Will you be doing anymore of these podcasts by chance? They’re fantastic! and have inspired me to start developing my own webcomic. Thanks for passing along all the great knowledge.

  2. Yes, I will be doing more. I’m kinda taking a small break from everything now that I finished my second book (just last week). I’m building a plan for the future of all my sites. I think this one will be my new focus for a while too so you can count on more happening here soon. It might be anther month or two before I really start again though. Thanks for your interest!

    • Looking forward to the sites return. You’ve always been one of the best sources I count on to inform some of the decisions I make as I try to create work of my own. Enjoy the down time, you have more than earned it….and keep up the good work!

  3. I’ve spent most of this month feeling lost and depressed, unsure of what I should be moving towards. And then I somehow found myself here, still not sure what link tree got me here, but I have to say this is the most inspiration podcast and beautiful discussion on comics I have ever heard.

I’ve been struggling for 5 years to find my place in this creative world. Being pulled in so many directions that seem right but then are so very wrong for me once I get there. And somehow along the way I forgot the reason I started this whole journey. Forgot why I put in the long hours, and the sweat and the tears and and the sacrifices I made to go to art school. It’s so simple I don’t know how I could have forgotten, that all I wanted to do, all I’ve ever wanted to do, was tell stories.

I don’t know if there is a way to thank you enough for reminding me of this, but if I find it I’ll let you know.
