You could have easily trimmed this down to half the length.
Other than that, it was nice to listen to.
Aurinko – Did you just offer to edit my podcasts? That would be amazing! Haha. But seriously, there’s another hour of conversation left and it takes me a long time as is to edit this already. It’s gonna either be unedited conversations with amazing guests or nothing at all. Sorry. Well, unless you wanna pay me to edit it. Haha.
The length was fine for me, I found all the conversation interesting. Especially liked the part about rushing ahead and then going back and agonizing over it. I’ve been guilty of that so much, and I’m glad I’m not the only one that falls into that issue. But I think it’s part of the nature of what we’re doing, trying to fit this creative endeavor into our busy lives, it’s almost inevitable.
I will be really interested to see what happens with Daniel’s next 9 months. And I am going to go and check out the Wormworld Saga app tonight!
Can you post the link to the free audiobook? I’m having trouble finding it.
Thanks for letting me know it’s hard to find. Her is the link right now and I’ll add it to the post when I get a second:

That was an AWESOME podcast, Jason & Daniel!!! It didn’t feel like your typical podcast — enthusiastic fan/journalist interviews a creator — it felt like three creators having a roundtable discussion about craft, process and business. Can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it. Excited for part two, and really for all the future podcasts you guys do. Think you’re onto something special with this sort of “shop talk” podcast.
Hey Gabe! Glad to hear you like it and think it stands apart from the common interview podcast. My desire was to make it feel like you were sitting next to a table of artists at lunch who were discussing what they were learning and trying to figure things out. I get to do this at lunch at Dreamworks anytime I want and it always feels so fake when I hear other interviews. Like, they aren’t really talking about the important stuff. It’s this kind of discussion that really keep me excited and motivated. Glad to hear you feel the same.
…late to the party?
I just wanted to eco what Gabe said. The idea of creators interviewing other creators is a great idea. You guys really brought your A games here.
Nate’s question about how much to reveal and Daniel’s answer about the excitement of reading about the ups and downs verses giving it some time and reflection was good stuff.
…and Jason, you are a hero for your attitude of ‘just put it all out there.’ The information you have dispensed has helped me immensely.
I also appreciated the honesty when you guys were talking about how you’re currently supporting yourselves. If I’m not mistaken a lot of British creators (most notably, Alan Moore and Grant Morrison) were “on the dole” (welfare) when they started out.
Really great podcast. I’ve followed all of you guys and to finally hear the three of you together is just amazing. I think you all have become examples of what one person can do with passion and a lot of hard work and that has inspired others like myself to really go for it. Please don’t edit it :) I love just hearing you three go back and forth. I feel just like I’m hanging out on your patio, sipping a beer and just chilling with you all. Fantastic. Can’t wait for the second part.
Jason, love these new podcasts with you, Daniel and guests.
the duration is perfect, great info, and lots of fun listening.
one suggestion, you should sort comments, latest to oldest
keep up the great work!
cheers Elizabeth
i think it’s really sad that nate thinks no one would have read nonplayer if he wasn’t with image. i found nates work completely at random on dA and instantly loved it, it had nothing to do with image. i didn’t even know he had any published work at that point.
lack of self confidence and lack of confidence in ones skill/work is a real plague in the artist/comics community.
